Axsis Film FFmpeg Setup

FFmpeg is third-party software. It is not bundled with the current Axsis Film beta and must be obtained separately.

Rendered playlist video export requires FFmpeg. Normal film playback, playlists, virtual clips, CSV export, metadata editing, and data backups do not require it.

Start at the official FFmpeg download page. That page links to Windows builds. Follow the installation guidance for the build you choose.

Beta 3 can detect an installation available on the Windows PATH. Detailed Windows installation and PATH configuration instructions for this workflow are coming soon. If you need help configuring it, contact support with your app version.

  1. Open Settings > Export.
  2. Find Rendered Video & FFmpeg.
  3. Select Check FFmpeg.
  4. Read the FFmpeg status and Rendered Video Export status.

If detected, rendered video export is shown as Available. Show path, when present, reveals the detected executable location.

If the status says Requires FFmpeg, the app has not found the dependency it needs. CSV export and data backup remain available.

FFmpeg availability does not remove the beta’s export restrictions. Virtual clips and long source-video rows are not supported for rendered video export. See Export for the alternatives.
